The College of Veterinary Medicine discussed the relationship of the prolactin and casein gene with some biochemical traits and lactation in dairy cows in Kerbala governorate.

A master’s thesis was discussed in the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Karbala, in the branch of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, for the student (Haider Abbas Hani), entitled:
(The relationship of the prolactin and casein gene with some biochemical traits and lactation in dairy cows in Karbala governorate)
And that will be on Wednesday, corresponding to 29/12/2021, in the discussion hall in the college, in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul-Hussein Najm and a number of researchers and the student’s family. The discussion and supervision committee was composed of:
Prof. Dr. Basem Khamis Kuti / President
Prof. Dr. Salam Marza Sohail / member
Assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Jassim Jaafar / Member
Prof. Dr. Wefaq Jabouri Muhammad Al-Bazi / member and supervisor
Assistant Prof. Dr. Haider Ali Muhammad / member and supervisor
The thesis aimed to study the physiological and molecular effects of the gene prolactin and casein in dairy cows in Karbala governorate, and the study reached by the researcher proved that there are some genetic mutations affecting these genes, which leads to a decrease in the quantity and quality of milk produced.
The thesis also discussed the existence of a significant relationship between low physiological values and hormones responsible for milk production with genetic mutations.
The thesis was approved with excelent degree Congratulations to the master’s student for obtaining this degree, wishing more giving from all postgraduate students.
