Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kerbala Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine organized a seminar entitled:
“The Negative Role of Spreading Rumors and False News that Affect the Educational Process.” The lecture was presented by:
• Assistant Professor Dr. Mayada Sahib Hassan
• Assistant Lecturer Marwa Sabah Majeed
• Assistant Lecturer Fatima Muhammad Ali Abdul
The seminar addressed the social and psychological risks resulting from the spread of rumors within the university community and their role in undermining trust between students and the educational institution. The importance of media literacy in reducing the circulation of unreliable news and encouraging students to verify information with official sources was also emphasized.
The seminar concluded with fruitful discussions and recommendations that stressed the need to activate the role of educational guidance in confronting negative phenomena and promoting a culture of awareness and responsibility among students.
