The discussion committee consisted of Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Nadhim Ali Taqi as chair, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Salah Al-Samawi from Al-Qasim Green University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Atiya Dawood. The thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Hussein Bashar Mahmoud and Assistant Professor Dr. Fatih Awda Kadhim.

Anatomy, Histology, and Histochemical Study of the Kidney and the Adrenal Gland in the Eagle-Owl (Bubo ascalaphus)

The study aimed to identify the anatomical, histological, and histochemical structure of both the kidney and the adrenal gland in the eagle-owl through macroscopic and microscopic examinations. It also sought to demonstrate the extent to which these organs are adapted to the bird’s lifestyle, feeding habits, and environmental behavior, and the importance of these adaptations in maintaining the body’s physiological balance.

Furthermore, the study aimed to enrich scientific knowledge related to the anatomical, histological, and histochemical structure of the kidney and adrenal gland in birds of prey, and to provide a solid scientific database that will contribute to supporting future research in this field.

The examining committee consisted of Professor Dr. Mona Hussein Hassan as chair, Professor Dr. Jaafar Ghazi Abbas from Al-Qasim Green University as a member, Professor Dr. Ashwaq Kadhim Obaid from the College of Science at the University of Karbala as a member, and Assistant Professor Dr. Walaa Fadhil Obaid as a member and supervisor.

The discussion included a scientific dialogue that addressed the research methodology and the researcher’s findings, which contributed to clarifying the structural and functional characteristics of the kidney and adrenal gland in the eagle owl, thus enhancing the scientific understanding of physiological adaptations in birds of prey.
