The College of Veterinary Medicine organized an online training course entitled((Detection of the damage of the cellular DNA))

               Under the supervision of the President of the University Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil Al-Saedi and the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Wifaq Jabouri Al-Bazi, according to the Ministry’s directives and within the scientific activity of the Public Health Branch, an online training lecture was held under the title ((Detection of the damage of the cellular DNA )) lectured by Dr. Ali Reda and Assistant lec. Faris Sahib Imran from Public Health Branch and on google meet platform.
The lecture included a detailed explanation of DNA damage, which is the presence of a defect and a change in the chemical composition of DNA, such as the breakage of a part of the nucleic acid, the loss of one of the nitrogenous bases, or the change of the chemical composition of the base itself, while a mutation is a change in the arrangement of the standard base pairs.
The course aims to familiarize the steps of the commet assay to detect DNA damage to cells. This examination can be applied to various cells as it is characterized by high accuracy and relative ease.
