The College of Veterinary Medicine organizing an educational workshop entitled (Narcotic Drugs).

Under the auspices and supervision of Prof. Dr. Wefaq Jubouri Al-Bazi, the dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, and within the framework of joint cooperation with the Police Directorate of the Holy Karbala, the Divisions of Continuing Education and Student Activities and the Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance Unit in the College held an educational workshop entitled: (Narcotic Drugs).
During the workshop, the attendees learned in detail about the types of narcotic drugs, how to use them, and the methods used to spread this phenomenon, which is currently one of the most common problems that countries in the world suffer from and strive to combat and eliminate it. In addition, the workshop explains ways of remedy of the dangers of addiction basing on the principle of prevention is better than treatment, as it is considered one of the most important dangerous and abnormal consequences on our society, and because the phenomenon of addiction is one of the phenomena that threatens the security and safety of youth energies in society in various aspects, including health, legal, social and economic, thus, obstructs development and progress. Consequently, focus has been placed on establishing such workshops for awareness-raising and educational purposes and under the supervision and support of staffs specialized in the security and oversight authorities to cut off those who work to trade in the lives of citizens and the economy of the country and to preserve our youth who are the builders of the nation and its pillar in the present and the future.
The workshop was attended by teachers, staff and students of our College, and a delegation from the Agriculture Directorate of Holy Karbala and the Universities Security Division.
All thanks and appreciation to the lecturers from the departments and people of Police Directorate of the Holy Karbala for their efforts and the detailed explanation they provided to identify this abnormal phenomenon and the advice they gave to our College students to avoid its spread and provide all support to them to limit its spread.
