In the Russian Federation. The President of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission participates in the (ATOMEXPO-2024) forum and discusses the implementation of the zero reactor for training and scientific research

The head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Authority, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, participated in the international forum (ATOMEXPO-2024) held in Russia within the city of Sochi for the period from 25 to 26 March.

The Minister of Education stressed in a press statement on the sidelines of the participation that Iraq has a specific strategy in this field and is open to the global industrial environment to discuss the paths of implementation of the zero nuclear reactor project, which will provide a scientific space for training and the completion of specialized educational research in Iraqi universities.

The International Forum (ATOMEXPO-2024) is one of the most important conferences and exhibitions in the global nuclear industry and is attended by directors of government agencies, global nuclear industry companies, public organizations, international experts and representatives of foreign countries.

The forum will witness a special exhibition of leading companies in the global nuclear industry and sectors related to engineering technologies in the field of energy.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, on the sidelines of participating in the 13th edition of the (Atomexpo) International Atomic Energy Forum, which is being held in the Russian city of Sochi.

The two sides welcomed the coordination between the two countries in the scientific and academic fields and agreed to renew the bilateral cooperation agreement, while the two parties, in the presence of the accompanying delegations, expressed the importance of modernizing the scientific and cultural exchange tracks and enabling the universities of the two countries to have academic programs of common interest.

For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed the need to increase the number of seats granted to Iraqi students in the disciplines of nuclear energy engineering, nuclear and radiation physics, while at the same time calling on Hungarian students to study in Iraqi universities within the Study in Iraq program.

The Minister of Education explained the strategy adopted by Iraq to develop the zero nuclear reactor and clean energy plants and to establish a specialized environment for educational research in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
