After The Increase In Hemorrhagic Fever, The College Of Veterinary Medicine Implements Awareness Campaigns To Reduce The Spread Of The Disease.

           Within the framework of the various student scientific activities of the college, which are carried out by the students and under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Wefaq Al-Bazi, with a group of professors, the Continuing Education and Student Activities Divisions at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala have organized awareness campaigns to limit the spread of the hemorrhagic fever virus, which has recently spread in the country.

     Al-Bazi stated that an operating room was formed in the college to determine the repercussions of the spread of hemorrhagic fever after the increase in infections with this epidemic disease in many governorates. In addition to the joint cooperation between our college and the veterinary hospital in Karbala to limit the spread of the virus. Aso, Al-Bazi refers that the students of the College have carried out health awareness campaign that included various segments of society, especially in rural areas, under our supervision and follow-up of the Continuing Education and Student Activities Divisions in our college.

     Al-Bazi added that the students were distributed this week in the Freiha area in Karbala governorate and Al-Khader region (the village of Al Abu Shatit) in the Muthanna Governorate and some areas where Livestock and sheep breeding and butcher shops. The groups of students distributed educational folders and posters on how to prevent and limit this disease and its spread, in addition to warning meat shops of indiscriminate slaughter in the streets and on sidewalks.

      Hemorrhagic fever is a viral disease that is transmitted to humans through livestock and sheep, as well as between humans through direct contact with the blood of the infected person. Livestock breeders and butcher shop owners are the most vulnerable people to contracting the disease, in addition to the main carrier of the virus among livestock is ticks.
