The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, has discussed university partnership programs and areas of scientific and academic cooperation with a delegation from the American Organization for International Research and Exchange (IREX).
During the meeting, in the presence of the ministerial committee in charge of supervision and follow-up, the Minister of Higher Education has stressed the importance of focusing on vital projects that aim to provide direct scientific and technical services to the community and the need to devote development and training programs to young energies and competencies according to a well-thought-out path and time limits consistent with the goals of scientific cooperation between Iraqi academic institutions and their American counterparts. .
The Minister has called for coordination on program accreditation through the Iraqi National Accreditation Councils in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, interweaving expertise in academic fields, benefiting from international partnerships at the level of educational systems, programs and university infrastructure, and opening more prospects for cultural exchange embodied in fellowships, grants and scholarships.
In turn, the delegation of the organization, headed by the project supervisor, Dr. Laurie Mason, expressed his thanks for this cooperation and interest in reviewing the implemented programs, evaluating their effects and future prospects, developing partnership paths between universities, ensuring comprehensive development and focusing on targeted applied projects, especially technical ones, and projects and programs related to the environment and renewable energy.
