The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, has received a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education in the Kurdistan Regional Government, which included a number of officials of the supervision and quality assurance apparatus and professors from northern universities.
At the outset of the meeting, which was attended by the head of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority and the Director General of the Studies, Planning and Follow-up Department, the Minister of Education stressed the importance of integration between university institutions and the achievement of the projected scientific and academic goals in the fields of higher education and scientific research in terms of community service and providence of educational services, revealing the Ministry’s direction to work towards University cities project.
Al-Aboudi has added that the exchange of experiences between universities in general and with the universities of the Kurdistan Region in particular provides a positive environment for working towards development and responding to the global labor market changes that require continuous updating of specialized curricula.
The Minister of Higher Education has directed the formation of a Ministerial Committee to organize programs and coordinate on accreditations and recognition of universities and educational systems, especially with regard to the Bologna path and its scientific and academic requirements.
On his part, the head of the Supervision and Quality Assurance Agency at the Ministry of Higher Education in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dr. Muhammad Hussein Ahmed, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, for his keenness to enhance the joint work environment between universities and frame the understanding between federal institutions and Kurdistan Region institutions in a way that achieves the interest of the Iraqi people.
