The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research honored the University of Karbala for obtaining the competitive rank (+1501) in the Times World Ranking in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, presidents of Iraqi universities and academics from inside and outside Iraq.
This came during the ceremony held by the Ministry of Higher Education at the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad to celebrate (13) Iraqi universities, including Kerbalaa university that achieved competitive results in the Times classification in the 2024 edition, in which Iraq ranked (37) in the world for the first time in its academic history.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, expressed his appreciation for this achievement and its indicators achieved in the fields of teaching, research environment, international outlook and industry income, congratulating the University of Karbala, its teaching staff, researchers, students and employees for obtaining this scientific achievement.
For his part, the President of the University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil Al-Saidi, stressed that the fruits of this achievement came with the efforts of the distinguished university team, and that the university is continuing to develop its scientific capabilities in order to achieve its goals similar to advanced international experiences.
