The Science Week between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran was launched with the participation of sixty universities and institutions from the two countries.
Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs Dr. Haider Abed Dahud, who headed the delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the presence of public and private universities, said that the science week between the two countries summarizes the level of understanding and coordination resulting from the agreement between the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in the Islamic Republic and completes the dialogues that took place in the capital, Baghdad.
He added that the excellence of the universities of the two countries in terms of scientific research production and global competition in important classifications makes them worthy of occupying positions referred to in containers and sober academic platforms and opens the two countries more spaces of partnership and solidarity in many fields and understandings on scientific research and development programs and joint cooperation, noting at the same time that the Iraqi delegation, which includes a high official representation from the Ministry of Education and its universities, indicates a positive indication of interest in developing cooperation programs. Joint scientific between the universities of the two countries and achieve the desired level of relations with an effective impact on cultural exchange and scientific and academic experiences.
In this context, the Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for International Affairs in the Islamic Republic, Dr. Wahid Haddadi Asl, stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and expertise and formulating scientific understandings in many files, some of which relate to the environmental aspect and joint educational programs, while the President of Ferdowsi University Mashhad, Dr. Muhammad Kafi, explained that the universities of the two countries are keen on the success of joint talks and reaching a vision that serves the scientific and research side between the two sides.
The opening activities of the Science Week, which will continue until the twelfth of October, included a number of official speeches, including the speech of the Director General of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazem Baqir Taher, cultural advisors and scientific presentations on the importance of academic education and the level of understanding between Iraqi and Iranian universities.
