The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, called for the establishment and announcement of the Arab Higher Education Zone project under the umbrella of the Association of Arab Universities
This came in his speech during the official opening of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities amid a majestic Arab academic presence, where he stressed that the conference of the Association of Arab Universities represents a valuable opportunity for cross-fertilization of ideas and exchange of views on ways to develop higher education in the Arab region, calling for the establishment and declaration of the Arab Higher Education Zone, pointing out that this proposed initiative and this project includes an important roadmap to undermine challenges and expand the circle of joint action similar to the experience of establishing the European Higher Education Area and supporting Strengthening and strengthening the climate of reform in institutions and providing solutions to many of the difficulties facing Arab universities and educational institutions.
He added that real, continuous and effective engagement between Arab universities would reduce the gap between Arab education spaces and open the way for productive interaction with sober educational environments in many world capitals.
In the context of the opening activities of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research honored the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Dr. Abdelmajid Ben Emara, the President of Sousse University, Dr. Lotfi Belkacem, and the President of the Enlightened University, Dr. Hedi Belhaj Saleh, and expressed his confidence in strengthening the position of Arab universities at the level of academic, scientific and research giving.
