The teachers of the College of Veterinary Medicine participated in the qualifying training course organized by the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division at the University of Karbala for the participants in the “University Debate World Cup” for students, arbitrators and supervisors in preparation for the launch of the World Cup activities.
The course included introducing the participating students to the mechanisms of building and defending arguments and developing their capabilities in refuting other arguments.
The five-day curriculum of the course also included teaching arbitrators and supervisors who will participate in the “University Debate World Cup” the mechanisms of arbitration and supervision of debates that will start their competitions in the coming days within the faculties and develop to the university level.
The “University Debating World Cup” is a new experience in Iraq in which a large group of Iraqi universities participate, aiming to acquire students high skill in expression, argumentation, persuasion, communication and enhancing student self-confidence, while the first-ranked team in the final qualifiers will qualify to participate in international competitions to be held in Qatar.
