The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, stressed the work to establish partnerships, exchange international experiences with international institutions, enhance the competitiveness of universities and improve the quality of education.
This came during the session held within the activities of the Babylon Festival for World Cultures and Arts, where he explained that the international cooperation strategy enabled universities to exchange experiences with their international counterparts and contributed to keeping pace with and updating curricula.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has succeeded in implementing the Bologna Process in universities and has established an important programme to attract international students to study in Iraqi universities, as well as providing training opportunities at reputable international universities, through which Iraqi students have benefited from diverse educational environments that have contributed to the development of their scientific and academic skills and abilities, he said.
He added that the ministry is proceeding according to a regular path to rehabilitate and develop infrastructure in universities and strengthen its absorptive capacity in light of the clear indicators of the increase in the percentage of enrollment in higher education institutions, as well as the conclusion of scientific twinning programs with a number of international universities in disciplines related to comprehensive development.
The attendees appreciated the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the achievements made within the government program that supports quality requirements that are consistent with global contexts.
