The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala organized its third and second periodic scientific conference with the participation of a group of researchers from inside and outside Iraq.
The conference was held in cooperation with the Deanship of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul and the Deanship of the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala and under the slogan “Applied Research and its Role in Improving Human and Animal Health”.
The conference activities were attended by the President of the University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, and his assistants for administrative and scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Akram Mohsen Al-Yasiri and Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Hussein Al-Janabi, in the presence of the Chairman of the Higher Education Committee in the Provincial Council, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kinani, a group of deans of colleges, researchers and official figures.
For her part, the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Wifaq Al-Bazi, indicated that “livestock is an essential part of the economy of countries and contributes to achieving food security and economic growth, as this conference comes with the aim of studying human and animal health and exchanging scientific experiences between researchers to protect public health, promote awareness of the importance of preventing common diseases, and give health guidance and nutritional advice.”
On the sidelines of the conference, the Student Activities Unit at the college organized an art exhibition in support of Palestinian women, which included a large group of paintings, while the university president and a group of professors and teachers were honored.
