The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, stressed the work to achieve the highest level of institutional integration with the various sectors of the state, enhance the university’s role in community service, and crystallize twinning programs with international universities.
This came during his meeting with the Council of Maysan University in the presence of the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs and the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, where he called for building positive partnerships and institutional integration with the state sectors and contributing to strengthening the university’s role in society in accordance with the developmental requirements that require updating graduate programs and the area of specializations to be within the path of interaction with the variables of the labor market and technological and economic developments that suit the environment of the governorate.
The Minister of Education explained that the index of increasing international students admitted to Iraqi universities and activating scientific twinning programs with international universities and benefiting from their experiences carries an explicit indication of the progress of the level of quality in Iraqi university institutions.
He added that Iraqi universities have become an attractive study environment, which requires promoting the completion of urban projects in universities, including classrooms, laboratories and internal departments, pointing at the same time to the importance of following up on graduates’ affairs and holding training workshops that pave the way for joining the labor market.
