The College of Veterinary Medicine organizes a scientific visit to the Karbala Model Slaughterhouse for Red Meat

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Wafaq Jabouri Al-Bazi, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala organized a scientific field visit for fourth-year students who are trainees at the General Veterinary Hospital and the veterinary clinics in Al-Hindiya and Al-Hussainiya to the Karbala Model Slaughterhouse for Red Meat under the supervision of a number of teaching staff.

The field visit aims to increase the skills of the trainee students and their practical abilities on how to examine animals before slaughtering. The visit included a detailed explanation by the supervisors of the slaughterhouse about the basic steps for receiving different animals prepared for slaughtering and how to examine and prepare them before the slaughtering process, as well as examining the meat after the slaughtering process is completed to ensure its suitability for human consumption and its freedom from pathogens or toxic residues that have a major impact on the quality of meat and the health of the consumer.
