The College of Veterinary Medicine participates in the preventive vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD)

         Coinciding with the launch of the comprehensive national campaign for immunization against foot-and-mouth disease and within the framework of the curriculum of activities of the summer training unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, which was prepared in cooperation with veterinary hospitals and dispensaries affiliated with them in the holy provinces of Karbala, Wasit and Babylon.

The fourth stage trainees participated in preventive vaccination campaigns against foot-and-mouth disease FMD.

The free vaccination campaign aims at preventive immunization against foot-and-mouth disease FMD in cows, buffaloes, sheep and goats throughout the country.

It is worth noting that this disease is transmitted through salivary secretions and through the air contaminated with the virus, in addition to direct contact with workers and farmers with infected animals and contaminated feed, and its prevention is limited to periodic vaccinations and twice a year Iraq. The disease is economically devastating for livestock.
