The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, in coordination with the Veterinary Hospital in the Holy City of Karbala, participated in the plan prepared to serve the visitors of Imam Hussein (pbuh) for its importance in preventing hemorrhagic fever and maintaining the safety of visitors from communicable diseases.
The plan aims to control animal diseases in support of food security measures and preserve the health of visitors by controlling common and communicable diseases, including hemorrhagic fever and the Corona pandemic.
The plan included several axes in cooperation with the General Veterinary Hospital in the holy province of Karbala and its veterinary clinics, where all the requirements were prepared and the needs required to complete and succeed the visit plan were provided, the most important of which are:
Health supervision of slaughterhouses by examining animals prepared for islands before, during and after islands in order to prepare healthy meat suitable for visitors to prevent the spread of diseases, including the Corona pandemic, to maintain public health. The Follow-up, Inspection and Control Committee also follows up and inspects processions to reduce the phenomenon of illegal and unhealthy islands, and prepares the car of the veterinary clinic, the mobile veterinary laboratory and the specialized staff for examination.
As well as a continuous fogging campaign for Husseiniya processions and monitoring the entry of animals (livestock, poultry, meat, eggs, etc.) in external controls, in addition to an indicative awareness campaign for visitors against hemorrhagic fever and Corona disease and providing health instructions through large mobile screens near the Husseiniya processions in implementation of prevention measures and achieving awareness to deal with animals and islands in regular places among visitors.
