Under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Wifaq Jubouri Al-Bazi, the Internal and Preventive Medicine Branch at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala organized a scientific field visit for fifth stage students and graduate students of the Internal and Preventive Medicine Branch in clinical subjects to the veterinary clinic in the Amriya area.
The visit aims to enhance students’ practical knowledge, develop their practical skills, apply theoretical concepts and link them to practical reality.
The visit included a detailed explanation of the mechanisms of clinical examination of animals, especially buffaloes, in addition to introducing them to the most important diseases affecting buffaloes and the methods of diagnosis and treatment followed. Students also had the opportunity to follow up on a number of incoming cases at the dispensary and interact with veterinarians to discuss possible treatments.
The students expressed their appreciation for this valuable experience, which gave them the opportunity to see how science is applied in a practical environment, stressing that these visits contribute to enhancing their confidence in their skills and preparing them for the labor market.
These scientific activities are within the framework of the curriculum and scientific plan developed by the Internal and Preventive Medicine Branch at the college with the aim of linking academic education with field experiences, which contributes to preparing a generation of veterinarians who possess the knowledge and experience necessary to serve the community.
