The UI Green Metric World University Ranking announced the results of its 2024 edition, in which one thousand four hundred and seventy-seven universities from ninety-five countries around the world competed.
The UI Greenmetric ranking is based on key criteria that measure indicators related to the work environment and infrastructure on campus (15%), energy and climate change (21%), waste management (18%), water use (10%), education, academic and research programs (18%), and transportation and mobility on campus (18%).
The official website of the classification (https://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/rankings/overall-rankings-2024) showed that seventy-eight Iraqi universities obtained positive competitive ranks, as the University of Babylon achieved the sequence (119) globally, then the universities of Anbar, the future, the Middle Euphrates Technical University, Baghdad, Karbala, Basra, Al-Kafil, Northern Technology, the Islamic University, Sumer, Warith Al-Anbiya, Al-Mustansiriya and other Iraqi public and private universities.
