The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala won the first place at the level of scientific departments in Iraqi universities, as the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the results of the Iraqi classification of universities for the year 2024, which aims to develop the educational environment and measure institutional and program performance indicators and the course of scientific research.
This achievement came as a result of the evaluation of (2072) scientific departments in (100) public and private universities and colleges, according to precise criteria that included:
Quality and Program Accreditation (50%)
Faculty members (25%)
International rankings of academic disciplines (25%)
Iraqi University Ranking: Notable Results
The general classification criteria included evaluating the institutional performance of (100) educational institutions compared to (95) institutions last year, based on 10 main axes, including:
Institutional accreditation criteria (20%)
The effectiveness of scientific research (35%)
International rankings (10%)
International cooperation (10%)
The fact that the College of Veterinary Medicine won the first place reflects the tireless efforts made by the Deanship of the College and its faculty members, which enhances its position as a distinguished scientific edifice that contributes to the development of the veterinary medicine sector in Iraq.
The Ministry of Higher Education affirmed its commitment to continue developing the academic and research environment in Iraqi universities, noting that the Iraqi classification represents an effective tool to stimulate excellence and achieve leadership at the local and global levels.
