In the first scientific forum in Wasit the Minister of Education announces the approval of the establishment of a new public university in the province

                   The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, announced the establishment of a new public university in Wasit, strengthening the development requirements of the governorates, and enhancing their educational environments and specialized programs.

This came in his speech during the opening of the first scientific forum in Wasit Governorate, where the Minister of Education explained that the ministry provided all the studied introductions to deal with the development requirements of all Iraqi governorates and strengthen their educational environment, pointing to the development of more than a hundred university formations at the level of university, colleges, departments, branches and institutes, as well as giving priority to the disciplines and programs that society aspires to in the medical, engineering, technical, pure sciences, agricultural, veterinary, administrative, economic, humanities and social sciences.

He added that the interest in this path necessitated the interlocking of work spaces, joint coordination with officials of Iraqi provinces, governments and local councils, addressing challenges and laying the direct path for the development of universities and enabling them to achieve their goals over more than two years of ministerial responsibility.

For his part, the Governor of Wasit, Dr. Muhammad Jamil Al-Mayahi, stressed in his speech during the forum that higher education in Iraq is going through a distinct stage, pointing out that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, is the owner of pioneering achievements represented in the internationalization of education and attracting international students within the Study in Iraq program, while the President of Wasit University, Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Aqabi, pointed to the importance of the forum and the university’s impact on achieving development goals.

The work of the first scientific forum in Wasit will witness scientific and research sessions that shed light on the social and economic life of Wasit in historical times, the movement of translation, culture and literature, and its most prominent scientists and celebrities.
