The College of Veterinary Medicine organizes an awareness seminar on smoking and its destructive effects on public health

                    Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi, and within the framework of its continuous efforts to promote health awareness inside and outside the academic community, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala organized an awareness seminar entitled (Smoking: Slow Poison and its Destructive Effects on Public Health) in which Assistant Lecturer Nada Abdul Hussein Muhammad Mahdi, veterinarian Kawthar Ali Abdul Hussein, and veterinarian Lamia Abdul Amir Fadel participated, in which a number of college employees participated.

The seminar aimed to shed light on the health, social and economic harms resulting from smoking with a focus on the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle away from this harmful habit.

 

Lecturers discussed the negative effects of smoking on human health, pointing to the diseases it causes such as respiratory diseases, heart, and cancerous tumors. They also addressed global and local statistics highlighting the danger of smoking and its increasing prevalence.

At the end of the seminar, the importance of joint action to reduce the phenomenon of smoking was stressed, stressing that these efforts come within the vision of the College of Veterinary Medicine to promote public health and raise community awareness.
