Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Saleh Al-Kaabi, and within the framework of enhancing the practical training of students, the Veterinary Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine Branch organized a field activity for students of the fifth stage, which included the examination and vaccination of animals of the Animal Field Unit against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), under the supervision of specialized professors.
The activity aims to promote the prevention of this highly contagious viral disease that poses a risk to livestock.
The activity included a clinical examination of the animals where the students evaluated vital signs and detected any possible symptoms of the disease. The foot-and-mouth disease vaccine was also introduced in accordance with approved veterinary procedures.
Al Kaabi stressed the importance of these scientific activities because of their effective role in providing training opportunities for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real field environment, which contributes to developing their skills in veterinary diagnosis and preventive measures.
This activity comes within a series of scientific events organized by the college with the aim of preparing and training students to keep pace with the requirements of the veterinary labor market and achieve their role in maintaining animal and human health.
