As part of its community and humanitarian initiatives, and under the direct supervision and guidance of the respected Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed As’ad Al-Kaabi, the College of Veterinary Medicine organized a visit to the Al-Warith International Oncology Institution, affiliated with the Holy Hussaini Shrine, coinciding with the celebrations of the blessed Sha’ban births as part of the activity program prepared specifically for the Women’s Affairs and Human Rights Units in the college.
The visit witnessed significant interaction from the teaching staff and students, as the tour included an overview of the medical and therapeutic services provided at the institution, which is considered one of the largest specialized centers for cancer treatment in Iraq in terms of the availability of the latest medical technologies with a complete medical and nursing team. During this visit, the delegation met with the sick children and distributed commemorative gifts to them, in a step aimed at bringing joy and happiness to their hearts and providing psychological support during their treatment journey.
The Dean of the College emphasized that this initiative comes as part of the college’s diligent efforts to enhance communication with the community and promote the culture of volunteer work, in addition to supporting patients, especially children who require special care.
For its part, the management of the Al-Warith International Oncology Institution expressed its gratitude and appreciation for this initiative and kind gesture, valuing the role of the College of Veterinary Medicine in strengthening the ties between academic and health institutions, and confirming the importance of psychological support in boosting the morale of patients, especially children.
At the end of the visit, the college delegation affirmed its commitment to organizing such events that enhance the spirit of social solidarity and reflect the humanitarian role of the college in providing the best community services.
