The College of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University, represented by the Continuing Education Unit and in cooperation with the Graduate Studies Division, organized a specialized training course entitled “Chemical, biological and radiological safety and security”, under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asad Al-Kaabi, with the participation of a number of college teachers and graduate students.
The course came within the framework of the college’s efforts to qualify students on scientific and professional bases that keep pace with the requirements of practical research and raise awareness of various laboratory risks.
The course addressed the most important safety principles when dealing with chemical, biological and radiological materials, methods of safe storage, mechanisms for classifying laboratories according to risk levels, in addition to raising awareness of methods of proper disposal of hazardous waste and the importance of using warning signs within the laboratory environment.
