Towards Community Awareness of the Reality of Divorce… An Awareness Activity Shedding Light on One of the Most Prominent Contemporary Family Issues

The Human Rights and Women’s Affairs Units at the College, under the direct supervision and oversight of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi, organized an awareness activity entitled “Towards Community Awareness of the Reality of Divorce.” A number of faculty members, staff, and students participated in the activity, which featured Assistant Legal Advisor Siham Moatouq Ali.
The objective of the activity was to raise community awareness about the issue of divorce, as a phenomenon that requires a comprehensive approach that transcends preconceived notions and takes into account psychological, social, and religious dimensions. The activity included a discussion of real-life cases that highlighted the causes of divorce and its effects on individuals and families, especially children, as well as methods of prevention and support after separation.

The lecture emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of understanding and dialogue between spouses and resorting to family counseling before making the decision to separate. It emphasized that divorce does not necessarily mean a tragic end, but rather can be a new beginning if handled with awareness and responsibility.

It is worth noting that this activity is part of a series of awareness programmes prepared within the framework of the college’s various activities with the aim of discussing issues related to society and the most important contemporary challenges of our time.
