The 10th Student Conference at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Karbala

                  Under the patronage of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Sabah Wajid Ali, and under the direct supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi, the 10th Annual Student Scientific Conference was launched today at the College of Veterinary Medicine. The conference discussed the graduation research projects of fifth-year students for the academic year 2024-2025. The conference was attended by a large number of faculty members and fifth-year students in a distinguished scientific atmosphere that reflects the spirit of academic excellence and ambition.

The conference aims to foster a spirit of scientific research among students and encourage them to submit projects and research papers that contribute to the development of the veterinary sector and serve the community. The conference featured the presentation of 49 scientific papers in various fields, including 21 in basic sciences and 28 in veterinary clinical sciences. These papers were subject to in-depth scientific discussions by specialized scientific committees, who commended the high quality of the presented research and the students’ ability to analyze problems and provide scientific solutions.

At the beginning of the conference, the Dean of the College delivered a welcoming speech in which he expressed his great pride in the students’ distinguished scientific achievements. He emphasized that these activities represent a true reflection of the university’s mission to support scientific research and build qualified veterinary cadres equipped with the tools of knowledge and innovation.

He added, “We believe that the student is the focus of the educational process and the true investment in the country’s future. It is imperative to create all the conditions that contribute to honing their research skills and enabling them to interact with developments in modern veterinary science.” He emphasized the importance of these conferences in building a generation of distinguished researchers capable of meeting modern veterinary challenges. He also praised the efforts made by the scientific and preparatory committees.

This conference is an important scientific milestone in the college’s annual activities. It aims to showcase the outstanding research output of the college’s students, create an environment conducive to creativity and critical thinking, and enhance the scientific and practical skills of veterinary medicine students by presenting research and projects addressing veterinary issues and challenges.

The students expressed their gratitude for this opportunity to present their projects to a specialized academic audience, emphasizing that this experience will remain a milestone in their academic and professional careers.

This conference is part of a series of academic activities that the College of Veterinary Medicine organizes annually, affirming its commitment to developing veterinary education according to quality standards and academic accreditation.
