The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Mr. Elbrus Kotrashev, and discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research.
The Minister of Education affirmed the Ministry’s and its academic institutions’ keenness to strengthen partnerships with Russian universities and develop scientific and cultural exchange programs through the “Study in Iraq” program, which represents a strategic window for attracting international students.
For his part, the Russian Ambassador expressed his country’s interest in expanding academic cooperation, praising the Ministry of Higher Education’s efforts in institutional modernization and expressing his welcome and readiness to engage with the “Study in Iraq” program and coordinate the admission of Russian students to Iraqi universities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen understanding, joint academic work, and institutional coordination to serve the educational and development goals of the two friendly countries.
