college of Veterinary Medicine Council holds its fifteenth session and emphasises on service, educational and organisational axes

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University held its fifteenth session of the Faculty Council under the chairmanship of the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asad Al-Kaabi, and in the presence of the members of the Council. The session addressed a number of important axes that serve students and staff and contribute to enhancing institutional performance within the Faculty.

During the session, the Dean highlighted the importance of supporting the university’s service convoy in preparation for the Arbaeen visit, to ensure the provision of the best services to the distinguished visitors. He also referred to the recent visit of a university delegation to the United Kingdom, during which memorandums of understanding were signed with the Universities of Surrey and Kingston—an important step toward strengthening academic and research cooperation with prestigious international institutions.

In addition, His Excellency pointed to the participation of the Honourable President of the University in the Leadership Preparation Institute programme held by the Prime Minister’s Office, considering it a vital step toward qualifying and developing university leadership.

The session also discussed several key topics, including the ongoing preparations for the second round exams through equipping halls and ensuring necessary supplies; the activation of the Citizens Affairs Division to receive applications and streamline procedures within legal frameworks; strict monitoring of employees’ attendance and emphasis on job discipline; improving public cleanliness and maintaining gardens and green spaces within the college; adherence to traffic directions on campus and preventing violations that obstruct movement; organising vehicle parking in designated areas; and enhancing public safety measures in light of high temperatures, through the provision of a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

At the conclusion of the session, the Dean instructed the relevant departments to follow up on the implementation of these recommendations in order to elevate the status of the Faculty and support its educational mission.
