Kerbala University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine discusses the morphological comparison between the kidneys of laboratory and wild rats with a focus on the histological and histochemical aspect of the peripolar cells and the paraglomerular apparatus

      The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University discussed a master’s thesis by Hussein Saeed Sabih Younis from the Anatomy and Histology Department. The study dealt with a morphological comparison between the kidneys of laboratory and wild rats with a focus on the histological and histochemical aspect of the peripolar cells and the paraglomerular apparatus of the glomeruli.

The study aimed to clarify the histological and physiological differences between the two species through the use of special histological techniques and stains.

The study recommended expanding the scope of research to include other organs using advanced techniques due to its importance in the fields of veterinary medicine and comparative biology.

For his part, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Asad Al Kaabi, praised the efforts of the student and the researchers, stressing the college’s support for scientific and research activities.
