Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the introduction of master’s programmes in the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, announced the introduction of postgraduate (master’s) programmes in the College of Artificial Intelligence at Baghdad University starting from the academic year 2026/2025 to enhance the environment for future disciplines and keep pace with global transformations in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

This came during his chairing a meeting of the advanced staff, where he explained that this path is a continuation of the decision to establish the College of Artificial Intelligence and was adopted based on the approval of the opinion committee in accordance with the specialisations related to knowledge and technological development.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naim Al-Aboudi, added that the degree awarded will be a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and includes the specialisations of computer vision in the Engineering Applications Department, data science in the Big Data Department robotics and drone engineering in the Engineering Applications Department digital health medical diagnosis and bioinformatics in the Biomedical Applications Department.

His Excellency directed to set the third of August 2025 as the date for the start of the application, and to set the university calendar for the study by the University Council according to the responsibilities assigned to it.

In the context of the same meeting, the Minister of Education stressed the need to enhance coordination with governorates and local governments on academic projects strengthen the paths of comprehensive digital transformation in universities, and support safety measures in all university buildings.
The Minister of Education stressed the importance of integrating efforts and institutional performance in strategic projects, especially the central laboratories project, pointing out that the last three years of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have documented qualitative achievements that Iraqis are proud of and indicate an advanced vision in the development of higher education in Iraq.
