Minister of Education and Scientific Research chairs preparatory meeting for the opening of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence at Baghdad University

        The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naim Al-Abboudi, chaired the meeting of the specialised committee to follow up the final preparations for the opening of the College of Excellence and the College of Artificial Intelligence at Baghdad University at the beginning of next September.

During the meeting, the Minister of Education directed the completion of procedures related to the privileges granted to the students of the College of Excellence which include admission to postgraduate programmes and priority in the scholarship file as well as allocating a monthly salary of (200,000 dinars) for each student to support their scientific career and motivate them to academic excellence.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the final work of the College of Artificial Intelligence and its specialised departments in engineering applications bio-applications and big data, in addition to discussing the map of faculty members with precise specialties who will teach in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Naim Al-Aboudi stressed the strategic importance of the College of Excellence and its specialisations which cover the fields of applied information systems, data science e-business management, accounting, banking philosophy and sociology pointing out that the college represents the nucleus of the University of Excellence project which will contribute to supporting the knowledge economy enhancing the innovation environment and graduating competencies capable of competing regionally and internationally.
