In a vivid example of the efficiency of academic and practical preparation, student Mohammed Ali Hussein from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was able to perform a successful surgery to remove a large cancerous tumour from the mouth of a five-year-old cow during his summer internship at the veterinary clinic in Al-Khader district – Muthanna Governorate.
The operation, which was carried out with the cooperation of the medical staff was characterised by high precision, as the student handled the main surgical aspect professionally and resulted in the removal of a tumour weighing about 2 kg which contributed to significantly improving the animal’s health condition.
This achievement comes within the framework of the summer training programme supervised by the college’s training unit and with the direct support of the Deanship of the College of Veterinary Medicine – Karbala University, where the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asad Al-Kaabi confirmed that these realistic experiences embody the fruits of the practical approach adopted by the college in preparing qualified veterinary cadres capable of transforming theoretical knowledge into field skills that serve the community and the animal sector with high efficiency.
