The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kerbala witnessed the discussion of a master’s thesis by student Aisha Abdullah Khalifa from the Department of Physiology, entitled:
‘The Modulatory Effects of Urtica Dioica Extract on Gene Expression of GnRH-I, GnRH-II and Reproductive Functions in Induced-Menopausal Rats.’
The study aimed to evaluate the protective effects of nettle extract on the endocrine status of the ovaries in rats that had been induced into menopause through changes in reproductive hormone levels, oxidative stress status, and histological changes in the ovaries and hypothalamus. The effects of the extract on the gene expression of GnTH-1 and GnTHII hormones.
For his part Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, praised the importance of the thesis and its valuable research findings emphasising the faculty’s continued commitment to supporting its students and encouraging them to produce high-quality research that serves humanity and society.
