Ghadir Hanazal Bandar a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kerbala, discussed her master’s thesis in physiology entitled:
‘The effect of 4-phenylcyclohexane diepoxide on electrocardiograms and certain vital signs of the heart in rats’ in the presence of a specialised scientific committee.
The discussion committee consisted of:
• Professor Dr. Rana Fadel Musa (committee chair)
• Professor Dr. Nabil Muhammad Naji (member)
• Professor Dr. Abir Jihad Yusuf (member)
• Professor Dr. Wafaq Jabouri Muhammad (member and supervisor)
• Assistant Professor Dr. Khawla Ibrahim Abdul (Member and Supervisor)
The study aimed to evaluate the effect of 4-phenylcyclohexenedione diepoxide known for its effect on the ovaries, on the electrical activity of the heart and the levels of some cardiac vital signs in rats in order to understand the relationship between hormonal changes and potential cardiac risks.
On this occasion the Dean of the Faculty Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi said:
“What student Ghadeer Hanzal has achieved is a scientific accomplishment that adds to the prestige of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Karbala and reflects our institution’s keenness to support serious research that serves the community and the health sector. We are proud of this success and look forward to more scientific achievements by our students and teaching staff.
At the end of the discussion the committee praised the student’s efforts and the originality of her research, awarding her a distinction.
