The Bill of Rights: Renewed Human Values in an Awareness Lecture at the University of Karbala

The Human Rights Unit in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit held an awareness lecture entitled:

‘The Precious Treasures Associated with Human Beings and Their Rights: The Message of Rights as a Model’

on Monday 15 September 2025 at the Public Health Laboratory.

The lecture was delivered by Ms. Siham Maatouk Ali who addressed the humanitarian and intellectual content of Imam Zain al-Abidin’s (as) Letter of Rights and the most important principles and eternal values it contains that preserve human dignity and affirm human rights and duties towards God oneself and society.

The lecture also emphasised the importance of establishing a culture of rights and duties in the university environment and highlighting its role in building a conscious generation capable of promoting the values of justice and mutual respect.

At the end of the event, the honourable dean praised the efforts made in organising these activities, emphasising the college’s keenness to support programmes that contribute to spreading awareness of rights and advancing the humanitarian and intellectual aspects of life.
