Integration of policies between human rights and the sustainable development agenda in an awareness seminar at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

The Human Rights Unit, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit held an awareness seminar entitled:

‘Policy Integration between Human Rights and the Sustainable Development Agenda: Guaranteeing the Right to Water and Health for All’
on Wednesday, 17 September 2025
The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Mohammed who addressed several topics on the importance of integrating human rights principles into development policies particularly with regard to the right to safe water and healthcare for all, as these are fundamental rights and pillars of sustainable development.

The lecturer also emphasised the need to raise awareness among students and researchers of the link between sustainable development goals and local and global realities, and the role of universities in spreading this culture and building a generation that is aware of its responsibilities towards society.

At the end of the seminar, the Dean praised the efforts made emphasising the College’s keenness to support scientific and awareness-raising activities that contribute to serving society and establishing the principles of justice and equity.
