The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced the admission of 185,416 students through the central admission channels at Iraqi universities for the 2025/2026 academic year.
During the conference announcing the results of the central admissions, the Minister of Education explained that the various admission channels have accepted 185,416 students, distributed among the general admission channels, direct admission, martyrs’ families, and elite students, in addition to ten other admission channels for various categories, most notably gifted students.
He added that the minimum admission scores for the medical group remained stable at 99.57 in general medicine, 98.67 in dentistry, and 98.29 in pharmacy. He noted that outstanding students filled the full 15% of the admissions plan for the medical group, according to the minimum scores for this category: 98.50 in general medicine, 96.96 in dentistry, and 95.76 in pharmacy.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, directed all universities to initiate registration procedures for accepted students and the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up to take the necessary measures regarding the digital objections portal designated for students who were not approved for admission and those who did not apply for central admission, students with grades above 75% who were approved for admission to institutes, and students who are graduates of middle school born in 1995 and onward and who achieved a grade of 90% or higher and did not previously apply for central admission.
