A Training Visit for Veterinary Medicine Students to Ashur Equestrian Academy

As part of the training programs implemented by the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala to enhance the practical skills of its students the Department of Internal and Preventive Veterinary Medicine organized a field visit to Ashur Equestrian Academy for fifth-year students. This visit was part of the practical training requirements for the Clinical Veterinary Medicine course.

The visit aimed to develop students’ skills in handling horses and diagnosing common diseases, as well as to familiarize them with the care and treatment methods applied in equestrian training centers.

During the visit, practical field exercises were conducted under the supervision of the department’s professors. These exercises included general examinations of horses, discussions of health conditions, and an exchange of experiences with the academy’s staff.

This visit comes as part of the support and follow-up of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi, who is keen to establish the principle of applied education and provide a comprehensive training environment that contributes to refining students’ skills and preparing them practically according to modern academic standards.
