Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kerbala Professor Sabah Wajid Ali and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College Assistant Professor Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi the College of Veterinary Medicine launched an educational awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and their negative effects on individuals and society. The campaign, held under the slogan “Don’t Let Addiction Steal Your Life,” coincided with Anti-Drug Week.
Fifth-year students participated in the campaign in cooperation with the Scientific Affairs and Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Units. They provided comprehensive information on the health, psychological, and social harms of drug use, as well as distributing educational brochures to promote preventative awareness among students.
The activity also included a simplified explanation from the student team on ways to prevent addiction and answered participants’ questions, contributing to the establishment of a conscious and safe university environment.
The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi, affirmed that this campaign is part of the college’s efforts to raise student awareness and protect them from harmful behaviors. He pointed out that spreading health awareness is a fundamental step in protecting young people and enhancing their psychological and social well-being.
The college continues to implement its initiatives aimed at supporting and educating students in ways that strengthen their responsibility towards themselves and their community, and contribute to building a conscious generation capable of facing challenges.
