As part of its scientific activities aimed at enhancing the practical knowledge of first-year students, the Public Health Department at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kerbala, organized a scientific visit to the Ashur Equestrian Academy. This visit was part of the college’s approved introductory and training programs.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of equine healthcare, familiarize them with the health and preventative procedures followed in equestrian centers, and highlight the role of veterinarians in maintaining public health and animal welfare.
The visit included a field tour supervised by faculty members from the department. During the tour, a simplified explanation was provided regarding the mechanisms for general equine examinations and the most important related health aspects. Some field observations were also discussed with the academy’s specialized staff.
This visit was supported and overseen by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi, reflecting the college’s commitment to instilling the fundamental concepts of veterinary public health and enhancing the practical skills of students from their earliest years of study, in accordance with approved academic standards.
