The Human Rights Unit in cooperation with the Scientific Affairs Division at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kerbala organized an awareness workshop entitled “Cyber extortion: A digital threat plaguing society.” The workshop was held under the supervision and guidance of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi.
The workshop addressed the concept of cyber extortion, its forms, and its psychological, social, and legal risks. It also reviewed methods of prevention and digital protection as well as the proper mechanisms for dealing with extortion cases.
This workshop is part of the college’s efforts to promote human rights awareness, responsible digital literacy, and to contribute to protecting society from the challenges associated with cyberspace.
