The Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Helou Al-Askari, affirmed that ensuring the quality of the educational process and developing institutional performance are the cornerstones of the work of Iraqi universities.
This came during a meeting he held with university presidents, where he directed them to consolidate and improve the quality system and update procedures related to academic achievement, examinations, and tests relevant to the rigor of academic performance and the embodiment of the scientific standing of Iraqi universities. He also stressed the importance of completing the requirements of the second semester in universities, their colleges, departments, and branches, in accordance with the approved organizational procedures.
Dr. Al-Askari listened to the proposals of the university presidents regarding developing the scientific and administrative skills and capabilities of teaching and administrative staff, emphasizing that preserving their rights and entitlements and building their capacities is a fundamental pillar in the path of sustainable institutional development.
The Minister of Education called on the agency to face the challenges with a spirit of initiative, responsibility, and openness to productive partnerships with the private sector, to meet the requirements of the labor market, to align educational outputs with its needs and developmental changes, to adopt a sustainability approach, to expand the use of clean energy, and to consolidate green economy indicators on campus.
