The Minister of Higher Education receives the Turkish Ambassador and discusses joint academic cooperation between the universities of the two countries

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Baghdad, Mr. Alireza Kony, and his accompanying delegation, and discussed joint academic cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

 

The Minister of Education stressed working according to a strategic policy to establish cooperation and coordination programs with the countries of the region and the world to serve the university education environment in Iraq, especially after the clear orientation of the Iraqi academic institution to improve quality paths and enable universities to achieve their goals, mission and vision in competition and reap indicators responsible for a sober academic reputation.

 

He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is looking forward to effective steps in the field of scientific partnerships, agreement to exchange experiences, develop scientific research tracks and receive more international students within the Study in Iraq initiative.

 

For his part, the Turkish ambassador expressed his country’s desire to open an international branch of a Turkish university in Iraq, noting at the same time the Turkish side’s interest in supporting joint scientific work, scientific twinning programs, and the exchange of students and academic experiences.
