Detection of exoparasiticide residues in animal products Karbala Governorate
A study at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala discussed the detection of exoparasiticide residues in animal products (beef, milk and dairy products) in Karbala province submitted by student Zainab Ali Jabr on.
The study aimed to evaluate the concentrations of pesticides “cypermethrin” and “ivermectin” in beef, cow’s milk, cheese, and butter, using liquid gas chromatography technology, and compare them with the permissible levels according to WHO standards.
The results showed very high concentrations of these toxic substances in animal products, raising concerns about the safety and health of consumers. These pesticides are one of the main tools relied on by animal breeders and veterinary clinics to combat ticks, and are the main vectors of the virus that causes hemorrhagic fever.
