The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala organized a panel discussion entitled
Violence and how to reduce it
With the participation of a group of college affiliates.
The panel discussion aims to shed light on the phenomenon of violence in its various forms, ranging from domestic and community violence to violence against animals. The participants discussed the goals behind violence, whether social, economic, or psychological, while reviewing possible solutions to reduce this phenomenon and its negative effects.
The panel discussion dealt with multiple themes on the phenomenon of violence, including its causes, types and negative effects on individuals and societies, and the discussions focused on domestic violence and its impact on mental and physical health, in addition to the impact of violence on animals, where the violations to which animals are exposed and their effects on the ecosystem were highlighted.
At the end of the seminar, the participants called for enhancing community awareness and cooperation between academic and governmental institutions to reduce violence in all its forms, stressing that building a healthy society requires confronting this phenomenon responsibly and seriously.
