The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University, in collaboration with the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate / Karbala Branch, organized a discussion seminar titled “Professional Challenges Facing Veterinarians and Their Role in the Job Market,” featuring a selection of specialists in the veterinary field. Dr. Atheer Al-Kudsaawi, the head of the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate / Karbala Branch, and Dr. Ali Fareed Shakir, head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the college, were among the speakers.
The seminar aimed to highlight the obstacles faced by veterinarians in the workplace, focusing on the professional challenges that limit their opportunities in the market, as well as discussing possible solutions to enhance employment opportunities and improve community awareness of the importance of this profession. It also sought to strengthen cooperation between academic and syndicate institutions to support veterinarians and review mechanisms for developing the veterinary job market through supportive policies and new investment opportunities that contribute to the advancement of the profession.
The seminar witnessed significant interaction from attendees, with many questions and suggestions raised regarding the future of the veterinary job market and ways to develop it, reflecting the importance of these issues in supporting and advancing the profession to meet current challenges.
