Karbala University organized a special celebration to honor researchers and innovators who won the “Iraqi Science Day” awards, coinciding with the university week, in the presence of the esteemed university president and members of its council, in addition to a number of faculty members, staff, and students. The College of Veterinary Medicine participated in the celebration, represented by the esteemed Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad As’ad Al-Kaabi, along with several of its staff, where Professor Dr. Yasser Jamal Jamil Al-Asadi was honored for achieving high indicators in the (H-index Scopus), and graduate Amir Ali Ahmed for winning the volunteer work award for undergraduate students.
The university president, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, confirmed that the honor represents an important initiative towards developing the educational process and motivating researchers to enhance the quality of research, promote excellence in scientific and research performance, and achieve advanced positions in global rankings.
He emphasized that the university is committed to supporting creative ideas, enhancing successes, and improving institutional work indicators to elevate the university as a pioneering scientific institution that contributes to community service and meets labor market requirements.
For his part, the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, Dr. Fadel Al-Moussawi, clarified that this honor includes distinguished researchers who have achieved globally recognized academic accomplishments, such as obtaining high indicators in the (H-index Scopus), in appreciation of their contributions to enriching scientific research and enhancing the university’s reputation.
He pointed out that the awards are not limited to researchers only, but also include creators who have had a clear impact on raising the university’s level in recent years, as the winners of the Distinguished College Award for Scientific Publication, the Distinguished Scientific Research Award, and the Distinguished Scientific Journal Award, which achieved high standards in academic publishing, were honored.
This event reflects Karbala University’s commitment to stimulating research excellence and enhancing the academic innovation environment, contributing to the advancement of the university’s scientific and research level at both local and international levels.
